Sweet Spring is here!

Hello gorgeous sugar babies!

The first day of Spring might have been March 20, but we all know that Canada still has a lot of cold weather to hand over before it gets warmer. So, if you’re having the itch to travel somewhere warm, you are not alone, so have I! Especially now that restrictions are easing up, we are all wanting to book our next hot trip NOW and not later. So why not get naked and get your skin flawless and bare just in your bathing suit!? I mean, who DOESN’T want to show off skin that soft?

If you’re looking to bring your beautiful self down here and get sugared up, please remember that we have moved into the District Beltline at 210, 927 10th Avenue SW and our hours are Monday, Wednesday and Thursday from 10:00 am to 7:30 pm. Vagaro booking remains the same.

We look forward to seeing more of you (literally ) now that Winter is on its last legs!! Looking forward to the fabulous Summer to come and seeing your wonderful face soon! Much love,

Happy ALMOST Spring to all you gorgeous creatures!

Big news for the studio in March! I will be moving to the new District at 210, 927 10 Avenue SW... But don't worry my Queens and Kings! It’s only a few steps away from Silver Orchid Salon. I will be on the second level in the Versus condo building, business name District.

AND the building offers free parking (HAND CLAP!) you will need to drive to the back of the building, enter the underground parkade listed as Impark. Once underground, you will need to park in the named stalls, “The District YYC”. Write down your license plate number and once you reach the second level, please make sure you sign in with the concierge or your vehicle will get a ticket as the stalls are monitored often.

My first day at The District will be March 14th, yippie! :) Please note going forward, I will be working Monday, Wednesday and Thursday from 10:00 am – 8:00 pm, so book in advance...

Restrictions have lifted, and we all have that itch to finally go out, I know I do! And as the warmer weather approaches, we are wearing fewer layers, showing more skin, and of course, ditching the facial mask lol That being said, why not get your sugar on with Dinna the sugar ninja. She will get you in and out in a flash and when you do decide to bare it, you’ll be glowing and fabulous!!

Silver bells, silver bells, it’s Christmas time in the city…

Sugar, Spice and everything nice

Holidays are around the corner!

As the cold weather finally sets in (ugh), we set our minds to Christmas parties, long fancy gowns, festivities, and hopefully that last-minute beach vacation to save your sanity!

Winter may be the season to bundle up, but sometimes those festive nights require a shorter dress to look your most fabulous, so be sure to book your sugaring in advance!

And if you are like me, the start of darker days and freezing Winter temperatures might make you itch to find a beach STAT! Warmth and sunshine and a few mimosas, sounds like a perfect break to me! And speaking of mimosa, if you queens are not likely wanting to take it all off, we can just take a little from your sides so that bushes don’t show up when you REALLY don’t want them to! Be sure to book in advance as November can get crazy busy!

And for the most part, if you don’t LOVE Wintertime, it can be nice to at least LOVE the skin your in, so book yourself for a little sugaring love and be sure to take care of you, no matter what that looks like!

Spooktacular skin

The weather is playing games with our minds this fall! One week we’re freezing, the next, we’re wearing shorts and hiding from the sun. The truth is that the snow will be flying PRETTY quickly, no matter how much we want to deny it . 

As the days get shorter, the nights longer, the air around us gets drier and our skin tends to take a beating. We probably don’t exfoliate and moisturize as much when we’re just going to layer up anyways. But keep in mind that we always need to be ridding ourselves of that dead skin layer to avoid ingrown hairs and frankly, less than gorgeous skin. 

The great news is that Sugar Body Bar carries these amazing exfoliating gloves that make sloughing off that dead skin a breeze in the shower. OR you can dry brush with them, which is helpful to rid your body of cellulite AND circulate your blood pressure. We would call that a WIN-WIN for sure! Stop in the store and grab yourself a pair to keep your skin looking gorgeous all year long! 

Also, something to keep in mind if you’re dreaming of that barely there Halloween costume!  If you’re looking to do it up right this year (Which you definitely should, since we missed out in 2020) make sure to book your body sugaring so that you will look devilishly delightful come October’s parties! Spots book up quick and it doesn’t hurt to book now! 

Now I know, I know the last thing you want to hear about is Covid-19 restrictions that being said I thought it would be a good idea to share a few reminders. 

• While hair salons are not required to ask for proof of vaccination we do need you to stay home if you’re feeling sick. And I’m sorry hunny but if you show up feelin’ icky and you don’t have proof of a negative covid test result there is no way your butt will be sitting in these chairs. Go home, and take care of your beautiful self - we will rebook later :)

• We continue to sanitize before and after every client!

• We do require a face mask and if you forgot one don’t worry we have your back ( or should we say your face??) with extra face masks available.

• Lastly, let's keep all this Covid talk to a minimum, we want positive vibes and good times here at Sugar Body!

Lights, Sugar, Action!!

The sun is out, the temperatures are rising, and we are BACK IN ACTION! You heard it right, Sugar Babes – Sugar Body Bar’s books are open again for business as of June 1! It’s time to fire up your calendars and book in with our favourite Sugarista so we can all confidently step out into the world and onto those sunny patios with fresh, smooth legs and bold, beautiful brows again. 

We hope you’ve been good Queens and Kings during the temporary shutdown and refrained from dusting off that villainous razor – I, too, had to bust out my bulletproof willpower and just let the garden grow, if you know what I mean. With Summer knocking on our front doors, what better time to keep up with your exfoliating routine? Break through that dry, dusty exterior that winter brings and let that healthy, glowing skin shine through! Pick up a fresh exfoliating glove and your favourite body scrub, have an at-home spa day and pamper yourself! Maybe even mix up a batch of sangria – you do you, hun!

Spring Cleaning – Get Ready for Love!

Hello my sweet Sugarlings! And a happy, glorious Spring to you all! How about our girl Mother Nature hitting us up with those rays of Vitamin D and longer days? I think we can all afford to send her some gratitude for the end of frigid winter days, am I right!? 

While the world around is in full bloom, have you checked in on your lady garden? Have you thought to yourself: “Damn girl, my house isn’t the only thing that needs some Spring cleaning”? I know some of you have hardly ventured into the outside world and have therefore decided to do some DIY maintenance, but you can’t tell me it’s as sweet as your Sugar Shot or Peach Bellini! Do yourselves a favour and book an appointment with our favourite Sugar Ninja before the weather gets warmer and her calendar gets filled! Here are a few hot tips from your friendly neighbourhood anon blogger regarding pre-appointment prep and post-appointment care:

• Hydrate, hydrate, HYDRATE!! I cannot stress this enough. When your body is hydrated, the hair follicles are more willing to say “buh-bye” to that unwanted body hair, which means less pain. I can personally attest to this: days where I haven’t arrived hydrated, I’ve wanted to flip the table and walk TF out! Drinking lots of water after your appointment is just as important in order to promote healthy, open pores and reduce the occurrence of ingrown/irritation

• If pain is not your game, pop a Tylenol 30-minutes prior to your appointment. It’ll help relax your body and make you less tense during your service!

• My favourite 9-letter word: EXFOLIATE! Not only should you do this after your appointment but exfoliating prior to your appointment can help open up your hair follicles for easier hair removal. For post-appointment care, use a dry brush or exfoliating glove every other day in order to prevent pesky in-grown hairs from occurring

• Because your pores are very open once the hair has been removed, avoid tanning, sweating, hot tubs, and/or sexy time (sorry!) within 24 hours of getting your Sugar fix. We want to make sure nothing gets in those pores to irritate or infect them, and maintain a sexy, smooth surface! 

• If you’ve been having trouble booking your appointment and don’t have the Vagaro app, we highly recommend you download it! Booking through Vagaro is easy peasy, lemon squeezy. You can even “bookmark” Sugar Body Bar so when you open the app, SBB is on your homepage, making it super convenient to book your next self-care session.

I know it’s April and all, but I promise you, THIS IS NOT A DRILL: Dinna has decided to extend her 15% off sale on all body sugaring and lash lifts (excluding facial wax)!
